Morocco tour from Marrakech, Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech

Our 8-day Morocco tour from Marrakech begins after we meet up at the International Airport of Marrakech. The first day of the itinerary will be dedicated to exploring the magnificent Red City.

Marrakech gained its glory after the Almoravid Dynasty named it the capital of their kingdom. Most of the historical landmarks of Marrakech mark different periods of the rich history of the city. During this day, you may explore Marrakech on your own and relax a little bit, preparing for the journey the next day.

Day 2: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate

We will drive across the mountainous landscapes of Tizi N’Tichka, which is more than 2 kilometers above sea level. We can stop by some villages and landscapes along the way in case you want to explore something. Before reaching Ouarzazate, we will explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site Ait Benhaddou Kasbah.

The latter site is a fortified city that captures the sights with its unique buildings. Ait Benhaddou is famous for being a popular filming destination.  After we reach Ouarzazate, we will stay at a nice hotel for the night.

Day 3: Ouarzazate – Dades Valley Gorges – Todra Gorges

On the third day of our Morocco tour from Marrakech, we will explore the luscious oasis of Skoura, one of the biggest oases in Morocco. From there, we will head to Dades Valley across a road marked with its palm groves and Kasbahs. The warm colors of the landscapes are surely something to admire.

The journey will take us to Tinghir after that. The latter town is one of the most important urban areas of the region. Then, we will head to Toudra Gorges to witness the beauty of the highest canyons in Morocco.

Day 4: Todra Gorges – Merzouga – Camel ride – Night in Desert Nomad Camp

The first thing we do after waking up is exploring Toudra for some time. If you’re a fan of climbing, we highly recommend you try climbing the canyons of Toudra. When we finish our exploration of Toudra, we will head to Tinjdad and Ksar Touroug, which are two desert towns with beautiful oases. Shortly after that, we will go to Merzouga, the town of dunes.

In a hotel at Merzouga, we will leave our luggage before we go on a caravan trip to the depths of the desert. We will head to the desert camps in the middle of Erg Chebbi Dunes, where we will spend the night.

Erg Chebbi dunes are all that you imagine when you picture exotic deserts, especially when riding a camel. We will spend time with nomads who can keep us entertained with their spiritual desert music. Under the super-starry night sky.

Live the adventure with us on this Morocco tour from Marrakech.

Day 5: Merzouga – Zagora

Our journey will take us to explore more desert spots starting with Djbel Saghir near the caravan market city of Rissani. After that, we will go to Alnif, Nkob, Tansikht, and more on a journey across the desert landscapes and towns.

Across the Draa Valley, we will travel penetrating the diverse landscapes towards Zagora where we will stop for the night in a luxury hotel or something more budget-friendly.

Day 6: Zagora – Ouarzazate

On the sixth day of this Morocco tour from Marrakech, we depart from Zagora traveling back to Ouarzazate through Draa Valley. We will first explore Agdz, crossing the Djebel Saghir, which has some of the most fascinating landscapes in the desert.

After arriving at Ouarzazate, we will spend time exploring its historical spots and famous movie studios. At night, we can relax in the bar of a hotel.

Day 7: Ouarzazate – Marrakech

Last day in the desert on this Morocco tour from Marrakech. Traveling across the mountainous road Tizi N’Tichka once again, we will return to Marrakech. The height of the road will offer us a wonderful view of the Haouz plains. Once in Marrakech, we can do whatever you want.

If you’re the kind of person who loves shopping and tasting the diversity of Moroccan cuisine, Marrakech is the best city. At night, we can visit a club or something a little bit quieter like a riad.

Day 8: Marrakech – Airport Transfer

If your flight comes a little bit later during this day, in the morning, we can visit the Medina of Marrakech if we haven’t fully explored it. We may also visit Majorelle Garden for some clean air; it’s arguably the most fascinating garden in Morocco.

And that’s how we can end our 8-day Morocco tour from Marrakech.
